Demi Lovato to Host the Teen Choice Awards

The X Factor judge will front the annual Fox awards show on July 22, which sees her nominated for a four accolades including two music gongs for hit "Give Your Heart a Break." Demi is up for Choice Summer Song and Choice Love Song in the music category, and she is also in line for the Female Choice Summer Music Star prize in which she will take on Katy Perry, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Carly Rae Jepsen, who will perform at the ceremony.
As well as the "Call Me Maybe" hitmaker, Justin Bieber - who faces off against Demi for the Choice Twit award - Flo Rida and No Doubt will also take to the stage for the event, which is set to include an appearance by "So You Think You Can Dance" host Cat Deeley.
Demi's appointment means she will have a busy summer presenting the ceremony, performing on her current summer North American tour, which concludes on September 1, and judging The X Factor.

Neil Patrick Harris to Host Tony Awards

Neil Patrick Harris is to host the Tony Awards.
The How I Met Your Mother star will take control of proceedings at the annual ceremony, which recognizes the best of Broadway theatre, for a third time and he can't wait to helm the show again.
"I'm thrilled to be a part of this year's Tony Awards. Not only will I be shining a spotlight on the best that Broadway has to offer, but hopefully I'll score some free house seats to a show - or five!" he said in a statement.
Harris hosted the event last year and in 2009, a stint which earned him and the production team an Emmy Award. The 38-year-old star - who shot to fame as the titular character in hit TV series Doogie Howser, M.D. - is also established on Broadway and has had roles in the play Proof and the musicals Cabaret and Assassins.
The 2012 Tony Awards will broadcast live on CBS on June 10 from New York's Beacon Theater.

Jimmy Kimmel to Host Emmy Awards

Jimmy Kimmel is to host the Emmy Awards for the first time.
The talk show host has been unveiled as presenter of the prestigious ceremony, which honors the best in television and takes place on September 23.
Referring to actor Eddie Murphy - who pulled out of hosting this year's Academy Awards - Jimmy said, "I hope to be able to do for the Emmys this year what Eddie Murphy did for the Oscars."
The telecast of the prestigious ceremony will be executive produced by Don Mischer for the 12th time. The director and producer is "thrilled" to be working on the awards show again. "We love television and look forward to working with the television academy and ABC in creating a show that is fast-paced, humorous, unpredictable, and at times irreverent, but clearly celebratory of our incredible industry," he said in a statement.
Jimmy has previously hosted the American Music Awards and the ESPY Awards and is set to host the White House Correspondents' dinner next month. The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre.

Ricky Gervais Won’t Host Golden Globes Again

Ricky Gervais will not host the Golden Globe Awards again. The comedian - who aimed a number of crude jokes at celebrities in the audience when he fronted the event in Los Angeles on Sunday - has instructed his agent not to let him present the ceremony for a fourth time because he doesn't enjoy the prestigious hosting role until the evening is over.
Writing on his official blog, Ricky - who came under fire after insulting several celebrities in the audience while hosting the spectacle in 2011 - said, "Thank f**k that's over. I had a blast actually. It was by far my favorite of the three hosting stints. I've told my agent to never let me be persuaded to do it again though. It's like a parachute jump. You can only really enjoy it in retrospect when you realize you didn't die and it was quite an amazing thing to do."
The 50-year-old star's latest jibes saw him joke about Jodie Foster's sexuality and poke fun at Justin Bieber's recent paternity scandal - but he thinks the audience understood his crude comedy a lot more this time around: "The crowd were great this year too. I think they finally worked out that my gags only seemed rude and nasty but were actually not too scary at all. Or they were just drunker. Either way, it was fun but I'm glad to say I'm off to New York to chill out a bit."

At the Oscars: The 83rd Annual Academy Awards

The 83rd Academy Awards opened with a montage of the handful of movies they’ve decided to honor this year. As usual, all nominations came from a select, certain group of movies in the long list that came out during 2010. If you didn’t see The Social Network, The King’s Speech, The Fighter, Black Swan or True Grit, the Oscars wanted you to feel like they’re absolutely can’t-miss films.
But, the award show did offer more than the usual back-patting the actors give themselves once a year.
“Oh my gosh, you’re all real…this is all happening,” Anne Hathaway grinned from the stage as the smoke cleared. Her diamond-covered white gown was a perfect choice for the opening monologue, which was peppered with jokes about James Franco’s nomination and Hathaway’s lack of one (“it used to be, you get naked, you get nominated…not any more”).

We’re not sure what Oscar co-host James Franco was trying to tell us with this Tweet, we’re just glad he did. Franco, a relative newcomer to Twitter, shared this short video-only clip with his 150,000 followers earlier this week, and everyone wants to know why.
In the video, he and fellow host Anne Hathaway seem to be performing the iconic final duet from Grease, which we can only hope they’re taping for the upcoming awards broadcast on Sunday, February 27.
